You are cordially invited to attend an EXCLUSIVE VIP reception for Paier College’s inaugural Visiting Artist gallery show!

The show, titled “Opus ad Vivifica,” which means “work to revive,” is a celebration of the perseverance of artists who have continued to create work that encourages us to engage, empathize and heal throughout the pandemic.

Co-curated by Gallery Director Khanlar Gasimov and Noé Jimenez (BFA ’12) the show features 40 works from local and international professional artists including paintings, photography and sculpture. All of the pieces will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds allocated to scholarships for qualifying Paier College students.

Participating artists come locally from Paier College and Yale School of Art, and as far away as England and Germany and include Adrien Broom, Douglas Degges, Kyle Goldbach, Abbie Griffiths, Noé Jimenez, John Keefer, Zachary Keeting, Mikail Shevelkin and Kim Weston.

When: The show kicks off with an invite-only reception on Friday, January 28, 2022, and will be open to the public Mondays-Thursdays from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. through Thursday, March 3, 2022

The show hopes to help revive the art scene in Bridgeport and bring together art enthusiasts who have not frequented galleries in Connecticut and New York over the past two years due to the pandemic.

“In the face of the health and economic challenges we have endured for the past two years, artists have continued to create work that shines light into the darkness and serves as food for our souls despite the threat to their own livelihoods,” said Gasimov. “We hope that this show will encourage people to begin gathering together again to celebrate the arts.”

Note: Masks are required.
