Paier College today announced it has named James Page, MBA, Ed.D., to serve as its new provost. Dr. Page was appointed following a nationwide search, and he will assume the role immediately. He comes to Paier College from the University of Bridgeport (UB) where he served as the undergraduate program director in the School of Business. As provost, Dr. Page will be responsible for overseeing daily academic operations and helping to define Paier College’s strategic academic vision. He will report directly to Paier College President Joseph M. Bierbaum.

“Dr. Page brings a wealth of experience in higher education administration to Paier College that will make him a pivotal member of our leadership team as we continue to grow our institution,” said President Bierbaum. “He is a natural leader committed to high academic standards with a passion for creating learning environments that serve students and help them to achieve success academically and professionally.”

In his previous role, Dr. Page co-managed all faculty and student workers in the School of Business and served as the chair for undergraduate curriculum, responsible for overseeing curriculum design and development as well as all academic division chairs. In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Page was an adjunct faculty member and managed the Business Student Success Center, working closely with students to ensure they had the support they needed as they pursued their degrees. He has served on the faculty of several Connecticut colleges and universities.

Dr. Page has also held leadership roles at non-profit organizations in Southern Connecticut. He earned his Ed.D. from Wilmington University, his MBA from Sacred Heart University, and his bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer information systems from Albertus Magnus College.
“I have been following the impressive achievements of Paier College since President Bierbaum took the helm, and I have had a front row seat to its growth since the move to Bridgeport this past summer,” said Dr. Page. “This is an exciting time for Paier College, and I look forward to helping to continue this positive momentum while ensuring the academic excellence of our students, faculty, and programs.”
